Abilify

ABILIFY MAINTENA® (aripiprazole) is a once-monthly* maintenance treatment for schizophrenia and maintenance monotherapy in bipolar I disorder in adults. ABILIFY ASIMTUFII® (aripiprazole) is given every 2 months.

It can be used alone or together with other medicines as a long-acting injection used to help manage symptoms by reducing mood swings, confusion, or hallucinations.

Administration Information

ABILIFY MAINTENA can be given monthly or every 6 weeks depending on dose. ABILIFY ASIMTUFII can be given every 2 months as a maintenance treatment.

Potential Side Effects

It’s important to understand the benefits and risks when you and your healthcare provider are considering treatment. In a clinical trial, the most common side effects of ABILIFY MAINTENA & ABILIFY ASIMTUFII were:

  • Weight gain
  • Inner sense of restlessness (feeling like you need to move)
  • Injection site pain
  • Sleepiness (sedation)
