Abilify Maintena & Abilify Asimtufii
Abilify
ABILIFY MAINTENA® (aripiprazole) is a once-monthly* maintenance treatment for schizophrenia and maintenance monotherapy in bipolar I disorder in adults. ABILIFY ASIMTUFII® (aripiprazole) is given every 2 months.
It can be used alone or together with other medicines as a long-acting injection used to help manage symptoms by reducing mood swings, confusion, or hallucinations.
Administration Information
ABILIFY MAINTENA can be given monthly or every 6 weeks depending on dose. ABILIFY ASIMTUFII can be given every 2 months as a maintenance treatment.
Potential Side Effects
It’s important to understand the benefits and risks when you and your healthcare provider are considering treatment. The more you know about them, the better prepared you may be to talk with your healthcare provider about them. In a clinical trial, the most common side effects of ABILIFY MAINTENA & ABILIFY ASIMTUFII were:
- Weight gain
- Inner sense of restlessness (feeling like you need to move)
- Injection site pain
- Sleepiness (sedation)
