UZEDY® (risperidone) is a long-acting injectable medication used to treat adults with schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder.

After your first injection, UZEDY is absorbed rapidly and then slowly releases into your body over time. Clinical studies showed that patients receiving UZEDY reduce their risk of relapse and have fewer symptoms.

Administration Information

Uzedy is an atypical antipsychotic drug administered as a subcutaneous (under the skin) injection every one or two months. Based on reaction a patient can be prescribed to receive it just 6 times a year.

Potential Side Effects

The most common side effects of risperidone included slow movements, stiffness, shaking, restlessness, abnormal muscle contractions or movements, drowsiness, dizziness, anxiety, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, diarrhea, increased saliva, constipation, dry mouth, increased appetite, weight gain, tiredness, rash, and common cold symptoms.

Injection site reactions including a lump or itching were reported with UZEDY.
